Dyldam Parramatta Eels Head Coach Brad Arthur has confessed he couldn’t fault his side’s efforts after the Eels’ Round 19 loss to the Rabbitohs at home at Pirtek Stadium.

Arthur admitted execution, especially in the back line, let the Blue and Gold down, but the forwards did Parramatta proud with their efforts against a classy South Sydney pack.

“Like I said to them after the game, I couldn’t walk in there and spray them,” Arthur said.

“They tried their hardest and they put their bodies on the line and they were very physical. The forwards did a really good job. You’ve got to remember we’re playing a top 4 side there.”

“We were beaten by a better team: they probably just controlled the game better than us. That’s what we’ve got to learn, is that while we tried hard, that’s not good enough. We’ve got to find a way to execute and make the most of our opportunities.”

“I was happy with the effort but we just need to be a bit better with our execution and finish off the movements that our forwards started.”
