Tonight, the Dyldam Parramatta Eels will appear at the Judiciary on behalf of Junior Paulo, who has been charged with a Grade 2 Dangerous Throw following the Eels’ Round 22 clash with the Raiders in Darwin.

The club has decided to plead guilty to the charge, but dispute the level of grading, asking the Judiciary to downgrade the charge to a Grade 1.

As part of this process, the club has also informed the NRL of its willingness to accept a Grade 1 charge, meaning Paulo will receive a 25% discount if the charge is successfully downgraded.

An early guilty plea to the original charge would have resulted in Paulo missing 3 games, but if the club’s application is successful Paulo will be available for selection in Round 24, missing just one week.

An unsuccessful application will see Paulo spend four matches on the sideline.
