With just under eight weeks until the Dyldam Parramatta Eels’ 2015 season kicks off, work is beginning to replace the turf at Parramatta’s Pirtek Stadium.

The existing turf is being removed in preparation for the replacement of the playing surface in the coming weeks.

The new playing surface is part of a stadium upgrade that includes rebuilding the tunnel and change rooms to meet current international standards, which also got underway this week.

With temporary dressing sheds installed on the Western side of the stadium, demolition of the old tunnel and dressing sheds and construction of the new facilities are now underway.

Blue and Gold Members and fans will have their first chance to see the Eels run out onto the new turf on Friday, March 6, when Parramatta takes on Manly in Round One of the NRL Telstra Premiership season at Pirtek Stadium.
