Dyldam Parramatta Eels utility Joseph Paulo spoke about the Eels thrilling Quarter Final victory over the North Queensland Cowboys to progress through to the Semi Finals.
"It was a hard fought victory but full credit to the boys we worked hard at the end. They had a chance at the end the Cowboys but we stuck in there and came away with the win," said Paulo.
The clash against the Cowboys was a high-paced affair with the game going down to the wire, and despite the victory, Paulo knows that the Eels cannot get ahead of themselves after defeating the Auckland Nines reigning champions.
"It felt quick out there so it was really good to come out with the victory but we don’t want to get ahead of ourselves so we have to get ready for the next game," Paulo said.
With the game on the line and scores level, five-eigth Corey Norman secured the victory crossed the white line with minutes to spare. The try added to Norman's try assist earlier in the game.
"Corey Norman really has had a spring in his step this tournament," Paulo praised.
"He has worked hard during the off season and I am just glad to see him put on those performances out there because I know how hard he has trained this offseason so I know he is just going to get better" he added.
And whilst the strong performances throughout the tournament are a positive sign for the Blue and Gold early in 2015, the side has a few potential injuries to monitor after the weekend.
"It is good to have this success, but at the same time, Kaysa Pritchard, Kenny Edwards and Brad Takairangi have all gone down with injury so hopefully with the victories and he success we have, there will be no more injuries" Paulo said.
