Meet Madelaine Jones, a new member of the 2015 Sweet P’s Cheer Squad who is one of the NSW finalists in the Miss Teen Galaxy Australia pageant.

Being one of the Sweet P’s, it is only natural that Maddy’s passion is dancing. She has been dancing for years and for the past two, has also been a dance instructor teaching students from the ages of 3 – 9 years old.

“I’ve always been a dancer, it’s always what I wanted to do,” the 18 year-old said.

This is Maddy’s maiden year with the Sweet P’s and she is excited for the upcoming season.

“My sister was a Sweet P last year and I went to all the games and watched them perform which is why I wanted to audition for it this year,” Maddy said.

“I’m also a huge Parramatta supporter as well so it works out well!”

While she is studying primary school teaching at ACU, Maddy applied for the pageant to help raise funds for her chosen charities.

“I applied to be NSW State contestant and got through. One of the aims of the pageant is to raise money for charities. Mine are ‘Make a Wish Foundation’ and ‘Australia Zoo Wildlife Warriors’,” she said.

Six state finalists progress through to the nationals, two being the ones who raise the most for their charities and the other four contestants are chosen through the pageant competition itself.

If successful, Maddy could represent NSW and Australia internationally at the Galaxy International pageant.

“If I get through the state final, the next step is the national final in Queensland and after that it’s the international pageant in America,” she said.

We wish Maddy all the best for the rest of the pageant, with the state final to be held on February 12.

We look forward to seeing her and the rest of the Sweet P’s in Round 1 of the NRL competition.
