Dyldam Parramatta Eels prop Tim Mannah says he can't wait to hit the ground running in Alice Springs for his first pre-season appearance of 2015.

Mannah will have his first chance to test his fitness against the Wests Tigers on Friday night, and the Blue and Gold junior says no training can compare to game time as an indicator of just how ready the Eels side is for Round One.

“It’s always a bit daunting to get the cobwebs off,” Mannah said.

“You can train as hard as you want all summer, but it’s always that first game that really tests out the lungs.”

“It’ll be great for us to get that first game under our belts and we want it to be a great game for people to watch as well.”

And Mannah says that with each visit to #eelsterritory, the Northern Territory feels more and more like a second home for the Eels.

“We had a great time here last year, the town really embraced us and it’s starting to feel more and more like home.”

“We had a really good crowd there last year and we’d like to see that continue to build: we want to make sure we put on a spectacle that they’ll enjoy watching.”

The Eels’ first trial match of the pre-season kicks off at 7.40pm (NT time) Friday at ANZAC Oval against the Wests Tigers.
