The Dyldam Parramatta Eels will take on the South Sydney Rabbitohs on Friday night at Pirtek Stadium and Eels forward Darcy Lussick is looking to lift his game against a formidable Rabbitohs forward pack.

Coming off a loss to the Warriors last week, where the Blue and Gold fell to a 22 point deficit in the opening 20 minutes, Lussick knows the side needs to improve in the opening quarter to compete with the 2014 Premiers.

“We have had a good week at training,” Lussick said.

“We have a few things to work on obviously, like our starts, and we will need to start better this week to have a good game against Souths”

Game Day Info

The vibe and atmosphere amongst the Blue and Gold has been positive this week and the squad is focused on their Friday night opponents.

“The atmosphere has been good and positive around training this week,” Lussick said.

“We came in on Monday and got the review from the Warriors game out of the way. We have accepted it and moved on and have turned our focus onto Souths.”

With the Eels forward pack set to go head to head with the 2014 Premiership forwards, Lussick was ready to rise to the challenge.

“You always look forward to games like this to see where you are at especially with Souths being the benchmark team of the competition,” Lussick said.

“Personally I am looking forward to it and I know we are looking forward to it as a team.”

The Eels will return to Pirtek Stadium for their clash against the undefeated Rabbitohs, and Lussick knows the Blue and Gold Army will be vital in getting the Eels over the line and breaking their opposition winning streak.

“It’s always good to play at Pirtek. The crowd really gets behind us and we feel really comfortable playing there so I am looking forward to getting out there on Friday night”
