Dear Members and supporters,
I am sure you are all as disappointed as I am after the loss to the Broncos on ANZAC Day: to match the competition leaders in all facets of the game on their turf, only to let ourselves down with fundamental errors. I'm sure the players as individuals understand the only way to eliminate these errors is through hard work and persistence on the training paddock.
Doing the extras, as it is often stated, is the way champion players become consistently good at their execution.
We all need to stay strong and focus on the end goal of sustained success. The platform for this has been put in place with new training facilities, strong recruitment and junior development all in full swing. I truly believe that season 2015 looks very much like 2009, with the coach building strong self-belief in the team which shows by their disappointment in losing.
By eliminating the fundamental errors, we will see our team begin to build a winning streak. I want you, our Members and fans, to hold the faith because it will happen. My job is to ensure that once we have the Parra Eels mojo back, we - as a united club - sustain the winning culture each and every year.
I feel the pain of all long suffering Eels fans each and every day and I am more determined then ever to get the club back on track. Only by being united today can we share and celebrate success tomorrow.
