As the Dyldam Parramatta Eels prepare for their team-bonding trip up the coast this week, Blue and Gold prop Junior Paulo believes the timing is great for the team, especially after their 26-20 victory over the Panthers in Round 12.
“We’re actually looking forward to it, I guess it will be good for us as a team.” Paulo said of the trip.
“It’s something that we need coming off a good win, the team just needs to be together and gelling. I mean we’re getting towards that business end of the year.”
“This is good time for us to go away and think away from footy but also be able to train down there and work on the little things we need and also to gel as a team.”
After Friday night’s win over the Panthers, Paulo says that the Eels have taken away a lot of confidence with the victory and will need it heading into their Round 13 clash against the in form North Queensland Cowboys.
“I guess it was a confidence booster for ourselves,” Paulo said of the victory over the Panthers.
“It was a must win game that we needed and we were just happy to get away with that win and hopefully we can carry it on into the next couples of wins.”
ROUND 13 TEAM LISTS
With the Eels taking on the Cowboys on Monday night at Pirtek Stadium before travelling down south to face a Melbourne Storm team without their Origin stars, the Blue and Gold will be looking to carry on their winning ways before the bye in Round 15.
“Cowboys are a strong team, all over the park,” Paulo said of their opposition.
“With guys like Thurston and Morgan coming back from Origin, I guess they’re on a high level as well with them coming off the Origin win.”
“It’s going to be tough for us, we’ve just got to be able to match it with them and hopefully we can.”
Round 13 is one of the most reasonably-priced games of the year, with GA family tickets for 2 adults and 2 juniors only $20* and Grandstand seats only $30* if you pre-purchase! Check out all the Game Day info here
