Dyldam Parramatta Eels Nines captain Corey Norman says he’s stoked after the side won the tournament with a 22-4 win over the New Zealand Warriors.
After also being named the player of the tournament, Norman says it’s a big honour.
“There’s been plenty of talent running around this weekend and to get that I’m very thankful,” Norman said.
“It’s the first bit of footy and everyone is fresh, and you don’t get that pressure of normal competition rounds, so it’s a lot of fun.”
With two other Eels teammates named in the team of the tournament, Norman paid tribute to a side where everyone contributed.
“Young Bevan French, he killed it this tournament; and Semi does what he does and scores those tries, and the other boys all across the park did a great job too,” he said.
