Date – 3rd or April 2016

Venue – Pirtek Stadium Parramatta, Sydney, NSW

Description -

A gutted Dyldam Parramatta Eels Captain Kieran Foran says the Eels’ execution has been their undoing in their two losses to date, including Sunday evening’s 20-18 defeat by the Penrith Panthers.

A Penrith try on the last play of the game put the Panthers up 20-18 and sealed their last-minute win, and Foran says the 2-point loss was not for a lack of attacking opportunities.

“We blew a few opportunities when we made line breaks,” Foran said.

“We were able to mount some pressure, but we just couldn’t come up with that final pass or final execution. At this level you just can’t keep giving teams those sort of opportunities.”

“We have been in every game [this year],” Foran said.

“We could well be sitting here five from five, but it is just managing to close out those games. We have got to be better at completing. We are just turning over too much easy ball at the moment, and making too many mistakes.”

“We just have to fine-tune those little areas and be a little bit more disciplined there, and if we do that, we will win more games than not.”
