The Dyldam Parramatta Eels will have their first road trip and game out of Sydney this weekend, when they travel to Townsville to take on the North Queensland Cowboys.
Taking on the Premiers at their home stadium will be the biggest test of the year says Blue and Gold forward Kenny Edwards.
Despite coming away with the two points in Round Two, when the Eels defeated the North Queensland Cowboys in a gritty 20-16 performance, Edwards says the trip up north will test the Blue and Gold.
“For me, the game is massive and I know for us as a group, it’s probably our biggest test of the year,” Edwards said.
“We played Brisbane in Round One and the Cowboys in Round Two down here, but for us to go up to Townsville, it’s a tough road trip so to go up there to come away with the win is a massive ask.”
However despite the challenging circumstance, Edwards says the Eels are ready to lift to another level in all areas of their game.
“It’s one that we probably need right now,” Edwards said of the clash.
“Our defence has been good but we feel we can go to another level with our defence, and more so our attack.”
“In terms of how big this week is, it’s massive for us and we know we have to turn up otherwise they will put on another show like they did on the weekend.”
The Eels take on the North Queensland Cowboys at 1300SMILES Stadium on Saturday 23 April, kick off at 7:30pm.
