The Dyldam Parramatta Eels take on the North Queensland Cowboys tonight at 1300SMILES Stadium and Blue and Gold Assistant Coach Steve Murphy says the side is looking forward to toppling the in-form Cowboys at home.

Previewing the game thanks to betting.club, Murphy says the Blue and Gold are looking forward to tonight’s challenge, heading into the clash with confidence in their own ability.

“You don’t get a chance everyday to play the Premiers and the boys have prepared well and are really looking forward to the opportunity,” Murphy said.

“Their form has improved as the season has gone on and they have combinations that work really well together. They aren’t Premiers for no reason.”

“We are confident in our squad, defeated them in Round Two and we are looking forward to giving them another run this week.”

“No two NRL games are the same, six weeks ago is six weeks ago, but we think we can put in a strong performance against them and we have confidence in our own ability against any opposition.” Murphy added.

“That’s how we are approaching this game and tonight will be no different.”

And with the Cowboys boasting dangers across the park, Murphy outlined the job the Eels defence would need to do this week.

“You have to make sure you take their time away. If they have plenty of time to make decisions, they will cut you to bits so our job is to make sure we take their time away, strong in our contact and if we are doing that, we will give ourselves every opportunity,” Murphy said.

“An outstanding representative forward pack but our forward pack is rolling on quite nicely,” Murphy added previewing the clash in the middle of the field.

“We have a great physical test last week and I thought our boys handled it really well, and they will be looking forward to another big challenge this week.”

“Nothing has changed for them, they have to do their job, and if they do that it will go a long way to getting a result.”

The Eels and Cowboys Round Eight clash in Townsville kicks off at 7:30pm.
