Dyldam Parramatta Eels CEO John Boulous has pointed to the support from the Eels community as overwhelming following the announcement that Captain Kieran Foran would take a leave of absence from the club for an indefinite period.

The Eels halfback will receive medical treatment for personal issues, a decision supported by his teammates, coach and the club.

"Our priority is the welfare of the player and individuals within our club," Boulous said.

"He’s an integral member of our club and that’s echoed by the outpouring of support from Members and fans. Our quest is to ensure that his welfare is looked after and that our support is there for him and his family."

"Everyone goes through personal problems in their life, and in this case for kieran we need to make sure that this welfare is looked after. In cases like this, football comes second to someone’s welfare."
