Dyldam Parramatta Eels prop Daniel Alvaro and winger Bevan French have both spent time meeting some future rugby league talents in Darwin in the lead up to Saturday’s NRL clash with the Gold Coast Titans at TIO Stadium.
20-year-old French is headed for just his second NRL appearance, while Saturday will be Alvaro’s 14th NRL appearance for the Blue and Gold.
The pair joined local kids at the Neighbourhood Activity Centre in Sanderson before a trip to the Northern Territory Institute of Sport to speak to talented young rugby league players before their training session.
“The kids, they love their footy out here,” French said.
“I think it’s good for me and the boys to share our knowledge with them.”
The pair will train again with the Eels NRL squad on Friday ahead of the Round 14 game against the in-form Titans, and French said he had no trouble settling into the side.
“I’ve done a pre-season with them so we’re already a pretty tight group,” French said.
“They’ve all sort of taken me under their wings.”
“It’ll be a good challenge on the weekend and I can’t wait to get into it,” Alvaro added.
“I’m loving it, just trying to make the most of it and add to the team as much as I can.”
