The Parramatta Eels are preparing to take on the Wests Tigers this Monday (17 April) for their Round 7 clash of the NRL Telstra Premiership.

With the Eels unveiling their special 70th Anniversary commemorative jerseys that the players will wear this week, Norman said receiving his jersey from Blue & Gold legend and Hall of Fame Member Brett Kenny was very special.

“It is special [getting the jersey from Brett Kenny]. He was a great player, did well here for the Parramatta Eels so I am very excited to get that jersey and I cant wait to put in on on Monday,” Norman said.

“It would be great [to be a team that got back up there to the GF], but at the moment we have to worry about Monday and winning the game.”

The Eels are coming off a loss to the Warriors last week, their fourth consecutive defeat, and Norman says that the side must turn it around this week.

“If I could tell you what was going wrong the last month, we would probably put a stop to it three weeks ago,” Norman said.

“We have been playing really patchy at the moment, and when we are not on, teams have been putting us away and it’s too hard to claw back so we just have to make sure we play a full 80 minutes.”

“That is what is letting us down. We did the same against the Raiders, I think it was 15 minutes before half time and they put three tries on us,” Norman added.

“It’s that lack of concentration that is really hurting us at the moment and that’s disappointing but we have another Monday and we really need to win this week.”

With plenty of talk over the past week around Mitchell Moses joining the Eels, Norman said that whilst it would be great to playing alongside him, he was more focused on playing against him and coming away with the two point on Easter Monday.

“If he comes, it will be great, but we are more worried about winning on Monday. We really need to win this week,” Norman said.

“He is young and exciting and I think he has been playing well.”

“We are looking forward to playing him and the Tigers and trying to get the win.”

The Eels kick off against the Wests Tigers at ANZ Stadium on Monday 17 April, kick off at 4pm.
