The Parramatta Eels can confirm that Clint Gutherson has suffered a season ending knee injury following yesterday's victory against the Wests Tigers. Scans last night determined that Clint suffered a rupture to his Anterior Cruciate Ligament(ACL) in the final minutes of the match.
It's anticipated that Clint will have surgery in the coming days so he can begin his recovery in time for return in the 2018 season.
"This is disappointing news for Clint and the team as he has been a strong contributor so far this season," said Head Coach Brad Arthur.
"We wish him all the best in his recovery and I am sure he will be back stronger then ever next season."
"Despite this setback the team is more determined then ever to make a strong finish to the season."
"Yesterday we saw our fans come out in force and it's going to be a tremendous advantage to have 5 out of the last 6 games at ANZ stadium when we have such big numbers like Sunday."
"We want to see that support grow even bigger as we head towards the pointy end of the season starting with this Friday night against the Broncos."
