In 2017, when the Parramatta Eels win on the field, we will be announcing three awards presented to the players following the game
The awards are:
· Rebel Moment of the Week Award
· Grappa Relentless Effort Award and
· Pendle Hill Meat Market Own Your Job Award
These awards are presented to the players as chosen by Eels Head Coach Brad Arthur and the Blue & Gold coaching staff in relation to how they meet the Eels standards and expectations.
See the Round Twenty Eels Awards below.
Rebel Moment of the Week Award – Tepai Moeroa
This week’s Rebel Moment of the Week Award goes to Blue & Gold forward Tepai Moeroa.
With the Eels trailing by two points in the 60th minute of the clash, an opportunistic one-on-one steal from Moeroa saw the Eels gain possession and halt the Wests Tigers momentum.
The turn over led to a nice Brad Takairangi run, who drifted across field to beat Tui Lolohea before sending a supporting Radradra bursting into space with the winger able to create a two-on-one situation to put Gutherson over for a try and a 16-12 lead.
Grappa Relentless Effort Award – Michael Jennings
This week’s Grappa Relentless Effort Award goes to centre Michael Jennings.
A workhorse performance from the outside back as he finished with 131m from his 15 runs, 11 tackles and one try assist.
Pendle Hill Meat Market Own Your Job Award – Siosaia Vave
This week’s Pendle Hill Meat Market Own Your Job Award goes to prop Siosaia Vave.
The prop, who was called into the starting side for the clash, earns his award off the back of his explosive 32 minutes on the field, laying a strong platform for the Blue & Gold.
Plenty of impact and size to start the clash, Vave finished with 104m from nine runs and 22 tackles.
