This week, when the Parramatta Eels take on the Brisbane Broncos at ANZ Stadium on Friday 28 July for Round Twenty One of the NRL Telstra Premiership, the Wentworthville Under 11 (2) Division 1 side will run the Blue & Gold out onto the ground before kick off, as the Shine Lawyers Team of the Week!
The Wentworthville Under 11 (2) Division 1 side submitted their entry and were the chosen team after their submission demonstrated Shine’s values.
As part of their submission, the Wentworthville Under 11 (2) Division 1 side were described as a team that shines "because it is their first year as a team in Division 1 and they are all trying their hardest. They support each other on the field and off the field."
"They have so much respect for their coach and believe in their team mates. They all have such a passion for football and it shows through the way they all commit to training and game day. Even though the games they have played have all been very tough, they still have such a great time on the field and always compliment each other on the way they played. They act like more than just team mates."
The team's philosophy is "to try your hardest and have fun! Win or lose these boys still come off the field celebrating each others great runs, awesome tackles and kicks. They always come off the field with huge smiles on their faces."
