Parramatta Eels forward Kenny Edwards has been charged by the NRL Match Review Committee following the Club's Round 21 clash against the Brisbane Broncos at ANZ Stadium on Friday night.

Edwards was penalised for an incident involving Broncos Jonus Pearson in the 37th minute of the clash, attracting a Grade 1 Contrary Conduct offence.

The base penalty for the charge is a $1,500 fine, but can be reduced to $1,100 with an early guilty plea.

Edwards will be free to play in the Eels Round 22 clash against the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs.

Eels forward Nathan Brown was placed on report during the match in the same incident but was not charged.
