In 2017, when the Parramatta Eels win on the field, we will be announcing three awards presented to the players following the game.

The awards are:

·      Rebel Moment of the Week Award

·      Grappa Relentless Effort Award and

·      Pendle Hill Meat Market Own Your Job Award

These awards are presented to the players as chosen by Eels Head Coach Brad Arthur and the Blue & Gold coaching staff in relation to how they meet the Eels standards and expectations.

See the Round Twenty Two Eels Awards below.

Rebel Moment of the Week Award – Kenny Edwards

This week’s Rebel Moment of the Week goes to Blue & Gold forward Kenny Edwards.

It occurred in just the second minute of the clash, when Bulldogs fullback Will Hopoate took a high bomb 5m out from his try line.

Edwards was the first Eel to reach the fullback, and in one swift movement, he singlehandedly grabbed the fullback and dragged him back into the in-goal to force a drop out.

A big defensive effort from the backrower that really set a strong defensive tone for the night.

Grappa Relentless Effort Award – Manu Ma’u

This week’s Grappa Relentless Effort Award goes to second rower Manu Ma’u.

The back rower had a busy 80 minutes on the field, with 12 runs for 120m to go alongside his 23 brutal tackles.

Another big effort from the aggressive workhorse.

Pendle Hill Meat Market Own Your Job Award – Corey Norman

This week’s Pendle Hill Meat Market Own Your Job Award goes to five-eighth Corey Norman.

Norman terrorised the Bulldogs with his left boot, playing a crucial role in forcing 9 repeat drop outs throughout the game.

The five-eighth found plenty of open space with his long kicking game, with 8 kicks for 214m, which forced the Bulldogs back three to do plenty of tough work early in their sets.

Norman also finished with 11 runs for 77 metres, 1 tackle break and eight tackles.
