The Parramatta Eels are preparing to take on the Brisbane Broncos on Thursday 24 August in Round 25 of the NRL Telstra Premiership.

Speaking ahead of the clash to the media, injured Eels co-captain and experienced forward Beau Scott says the clash against the Broncos will be a good test for the Blue & Gold.

With the Eels securing their spot in the Finals for the first time since 2009, now preparing to travel to Suncorp Stadium against the second placed Broncos side, Scott said this week’s clash will be a timely encounter at this time of year.

“It’s a season defining game for us. It will be a good test for us up at Suncorp.” Scott said.

“It’s always a tough trip to play up in Queensland in front of that crowd but it will be a timely game for us coming into the pointy end of the year.”

“We will take a little bit of confidence [after our last encounter], but it will be a different team up there.” He added.

“They have come good over the last couple of weeks and playing some decent football.”

The Eels came away with a 30-8 victory over the Gold Coast Titans last week, and Scott said the team would take some confidence out of their performance.

“It obviously would have been nice to put a few more points on the board but I think our defence was great,” Scott said.

“We defended a lot on our try line and managed to turn them away a fair few times.”

Scott has not featured in the Blue & Gold since Round 15, suffering an injury to his bicep, however he provided an update on his recovery.

“I am not back yet. Back into a bit more training but I might be a couple of weeks off yet,” Scott said.

“It’s all progressing well, feeling good. I just need to tick a few more boxes."

“Bits and pieces of contact work, very limited, but it’s feeling pretty good.” He added.

The Eels kick off against the Brisbane Broncos at Suncorp Stadium on Thursday 24 August in Round 25 of the NRL Telstra Premiership.

Kick off at 7:50pm.
