The Parramatta Eels take on the Brisbane Broncos at Suncorp Stadium tomorrow night in Round 25 of the NRL Telstra Premiership.
After a shock loss last week, Eels five eighth Corey Norman says it was the wake up call the Blue & Gold needed with the side now focusing on themselves ahead of this Thursday night’s clash, he told Big Sports Breakfast this morning (Wednesday 23 August).
“A couple of weeks ago against the Knights, that wasn’t us and it was probably the slap in the face that we needed.” Norman said.
“We are now coming into the last couple of weeks before the Finals, I thought we played pretty well last week, and we have a big clash this Thursday night.”
“The focus is more on us and really worry about ourselves. We will obviously look at the Broncos but we are really focusing on us and getting all the little fundamentals right.”
“It is going to be a big one, and no doubt they remember what we did to them a month ago, so they will be ready to go, and we will be ready to go so I cant wait to play.” He added.
The Eels will be without livewire fullback Bevan French for the next two weeks, ruled out with a hamstring injury, and whilst it will be a big loss to the side, Norman is more than confident with Will Smith filling the number one jersey.
“Bevvy is an exciting player as you said, but with injuries you just have to take them on board.” Norman said.
“We have Will Smith back there, he scored a couple of good tries last week and he has trained really well this week.”
“You need all your guns to beat the Broncos, but we are still confident.”
