This week, when the Parramatta Eels take on the South Sydney Rabbitohs at ANZ Stadium on Friday 1 September in Round Twenty Six of the NRL Telstra Premiership, the Kellyville Public School Senior Rugby League team will run the Blue & Gold out onto the ground before kick off, as the Shine Lawyers Team of the Week!
The Kellyville Public School Senior Rugby League team submitted their entry and were the chosen team after their submission demonstrated Shine’s values.
As part of their submission, the Kellyville Public School Senior Rugby League team shines because "they work together on and off the field. They offer positivity towards one another, encouraging each other to play their best."
"The team shows courage in attack and defence, ensuring that all team members are included throughout the games each week. They display sportsmanship towards their opposition and they never give up. Win or lose, they demonstrate resilience and integrity. Other coaches have commented on the honesty and respect they have shown."
The team's motto is to "'Play the Game'. This has been incorporated into the team's approach to rugby league. We promote inclusivity and foster a love of the game. The team members take on all challenges with enthusiasm and they represent our school with pride,"
"They play according to the rules of the game and respect the referee's decisions. The emphasis is on participation and enjoyment, with a quiet determination to do our best. The players are encouraged to work together as a team and respect that members come with different skill levels. A positive attitude is encouraged at all times."
