Parramatta Eels five-eighth Corey Norman has joined the Australian Prime Minister’s XIII squad to take on Papua New Guinea Prime Minister's XIII in Port Moresby on Saturday 23 September.

Norman's call up as 18th man in Head Coach Mal Meninga's will be his first representative jersey.

Norman joined the squad in place of Josh Papalii, who was a late withdrawal for family reasons.

With a little more than a month to go until the Rugby League World Cup, Meninga said the annual invitational match would be used as a genuine selection trial for players pushing for spots in the Kangaroos' World Cup squad.

The Prime Minister’s XIII and Harvey Norman Jillaroos squads will engage in a series of events, community visits and coaching clinics today in Port Moresby and are supported by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT).
