The Parramatta Junior League (PJL) has been recognised at the recent 2017 Good Sports Awards, announced as the winner of the “Good Sports Leadership in Sport Award”, presented in Melbourne last Tuesday (21 November).

The Good Sports Awards cover close to 8,000 clubs and over 2.4 million people across Australia and is a program that is funded by the Australian Alcohol and Drug Foundation, with the awards recognising and celebrating the passionate clubs and people across the country, who inspire healthy and strong sporting communities.

Parramatta Junior League was nominated & the successful award winners of the “Good Sports Leadership in Sport” for “Outstanding Dedication to Building Healthier, Family Friendly Clubs” award, awarded as an administration that has driven a change in attitudes and behaviours, helping to prevent harm within community sport and demonstrating the Good Sports values of connection and inclusivity. This is the first time that this award was not presented to a State or National body.

This year, Parramatta Junior League also had 2 Junior clubs nominated for the nib foundation Good Sports Junior Club of the Year, with the Kellyville Bushrangers and the Greystanes Devils nominated.

Kellyville won the award as the Club recognised to have inspired a positive change by creating a safer place for juniors to play sport, by focusing on spectator behaviour, nutrition and the impact on the club, its membership and the local community.

Congratulations to the Parramatta Junior League and Kellyville Bushrangers for their awards and the Greystanes Devils for their nomination!
