Eels launch partnership with Parramatta Mission

The Parramatta Eels have launched their partnership with Parramatta Mission with a special visit from NRL Player Cameron King. 

The launch was held at the Parramatta Mission Youth Hub, with the Club celebrating Youth Week with clients and staff from the Youth and Outreach Programs. The Youth Hub located in Parramatta Town Square, provides intake into Outreach and Early Intervention Case Management, Crisis accommodation and referral pathways to transitional accommodation.

“We are delighted to be partnering with the Parramatta Eels and greatly appreciate their support and support of their partners including Outback Steakhouse Wentworthville at our BBQ events” said Jo Armstrong - Director Fundraising, Marketing & Development at Parramatta Mission.

Cameron King was full of praise of the partnership saying, “It’s fantastic to see the Club developing partnerships with local charities. We received a great reception here tonight and I’m already looking forward to the next event”.

The launch is one of several key events in the partnership, with further engagement scheduled for:

  • 9th May - Domestic Violence Month
  • 11th July - NADIOC Week
  • 8th August - Homeless Week

“Whilst the partnership is new, the relationship between Parramatta Eels and Parramatta Mission has extended over many years. The launch tonight is just one example of the Club’s commitment to local charities and the positive impact it is having on the community” said Michael Basan, Parramatta Eels Strategic Partnerships Manager.

Outback Steakhouse Wentworthville have also supported the partnership by donating the food and providing a chef to cook the bbq at each event. “Catering for these events is our opportunity to give back to the local community as part of our commitment to social responsibility. Outback Steakhouse is very proud to be part of this partnership and we look forward to growing this partnership in the years to come." said Jonny Miller from Outback Steakhouse Wentworthville.

Parramatta Mission were are also the beneficiary of the 50-50 Charity Raffle for Round 7, with the charity raising $1,720 to support their ongoing programs.
