Eels Harold Matthews through to Grand Final

The Parramatta Eels Harold Matthews side have progress through to the Grand Final of their competition after claiming a 36-12 victory over the Newcastle Knights at St Marys Leagues Stadium on Saturday 28 April in the preliminary final.

The young Blue & Gold side claimed a 6 try to 3 try victory with Peter Taateo crossing for a double whilst Viliami Penisini, Samuel Loizou, Drew Lloyd and Simon Tito also crossed for four pointers.

However it took some fight from the young Eels who entered the half time sheds trailing on the scoreboard.

A lack of completions, ill-discipline and lack of execution in key moments saw the Knights make the most of their opportunities and lead 12-6 after the opening half.

However the Eels found their groove, and their attack began to click in the second half to turn things around.

The Eels dominated possession, built plenty of momentum and some strong charges from the Blue & Gold in the middle saw the side score thirty unanswered points to come away with a dominant victory.
