Five Eels named in NSW U16 squad

Five young Parramatta Eels players have been named in the NSW Under 16 squad to take on Queensland at Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium on Sunday week (15 July).

The Blue & Gold features heavily in the side with Eels’ Matthew Komolafe, Trey Mooney, William Penisini, Peter Taateo and Caleb Tohi selected in NSW Under 16 Head Coach Scott Jones’ side.

NSW will be aiming for a third consecutive interstate victory in the match which will be played as a curtain raiser before the Brisbane Broncos v NZ Warriors Round 18 NRL clash.

The team will assemble on Friday, 13 July under the guidance of Jones, who was also the Eels SG Ball Head Coach in 2018, assisted by NSW True Blue Phil Bailey.

They will conduct two training sessions at NSWRL Centre of Excellence Field on Friday (13 July) and Saturday (14 July) before flying to Brisbane on Saturday afternoon.
