Eels Academy Camp - Darwin
Last week, the Parramatta Eels held their annual Eels Academy Training Camp – Darwin at the Michael Long Learning and Leadership Centre, Northern Territory, for young, talented NT rugby league players. Kicking the week off with a two day camp for female rugby league players followed by three days for the boys, the participants in the camp continued to develop rugby league skills and gained plenty of vital knowledge from the Blue & Gold representatives across the week. The best local talent from the NT were also treated to an appearance by NRL and Eels forward David Gower, a vocation and education (VET) ambassador, who passed on messages around the importance of having career training or further education, providing genuine career options to fall back on away from football. The Eels Academy Training Camp has been run annually since the Eels partnership with the NT began in 2014.
Parramatta Eels respect and honour the Traditional Custodians of the land and pay our respects to their Elders past, present and future. We acknowledge the stories, traditions and living cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples on the lands we meet, gather and play on.
