The Parramatta Eels club are always keen to be involved within the community and back the talent of local players within our Parramatta area and this year, Parramatta continued it's support of Wheelchair Rugby League.
To show a result of it’s support, Parramatta had a team in the New South Wales Wheelchair Rugby League (NSWWRL) NSW Cup.
Captained by Brett Henman, the team included some of wheelchair rugby leagues top talent. The side competed in the 12 week competition which was player across the wider Sydney area each Sunday afternoon over the past few months.
Wheelchair Rugby League is a fast-paced and exciting sport to watch and to be a part of. The Eels wheelchair rugby league side went into battle each week against teams like to the Wests Tigers and St George Illawarra Dragons.
Earlier this month, the Eels were in the semi finals against the Dragons but were unable to get the victory, cutting there season just short of the Grand Final.
Whilst it has been a tough season, the players have always been up for the challenge and the Club would like to congratulate the Blue & Gold Wheelchair Rugby League for their 2019 campaign.
Team Roster: Brett Henman (c), Nathan Pentecost, Edie George, Michael Grech, Edge Iole, Mitch Stone and William Derederenalagi
