Eels in the Community - April wrap up

During the month of April, the Parramatta Eels players had a busy month in the community visiting schools, delivering junior programs to young students, visiting our Charity partners Northcott, Children’s Hospital at Westmead, Ronald McDonald House Westmead along with appearances at the Parramatta Leagues Club, Easter Show, corporate partner Vascos Chicken and much much more!

1, 2 & 10 April 2019
Event: School Clinic
This month 6 Parramatta Eels players helped deliver after Football programs at John Curtin Reserve, Fairfield Heights Public School and Kings Langley Public School to over 100 school aged kids.

Players including Brad Takairangi, Salesi Faininga, Bevan French, Haze Dunster, Stefano Utikomonu and Peni Terepo all made an appearance engorging kids to get involved in Football.

2 April 2019
Event: Northcott Life Skills
On April 2, Parramatta Eels players Bevan French, Oregon Kaufusi and Kane Evans all visited Blue and Gold Charity partner, Northcott to assist with the development of their sesnsory garden as part of the life skils program. Northcott is a not for profit disability service provider that works with customers to realise their potential.

3, 10, 17 & 24 April 2019
Event: Weekly PLC Appearance
Every Wednesday night during the month of April, 2 Eels players visited the Parramatta Leagues Club between 6-7:30pm. This month, players included Daniel Alvaro, David Gower, Ethan Parry, Tim Mannah, Kyle Schneider and Dylan Brown.

9 April 2019
Event: Vascos Chicken Player Appearance
To celebrate the 1st year anniversary of Vasco’s Charcoal Chicken in Parramatta, Eels players Junior Paulo and Maika Sivo visited the restaurant during the celebrations. Vasco’s Chicken is a proud sponsor of the Parramatta Eels and we were very fortunate to have the opportunity to commemorate the business on their successful first year.

15 April 2019
Event: CHW & RMH Easter Visit
The Parramatta Eels visited the Children’s Hospital at Westmead and Ronald McDonald House as apart of their annual Easter visit. The Blue & Gold visited patients within the hospital, putting a smile on patients and their families at the hospital. Thanks to our Sponsors Aland and Actron Air who provided chocolates and footballs to hand ]’out to kids and their families doing it touch at RMH.      

16 April 2019
Event: Royal Easter Show
On behalf of the NRL, Eels players David Gower and Will Smith attended the NRL stand at the Royal Easter show.  The boys played some games as well as met with fans on the day.

18 April 2019
Even: Royal Easter Show
Eels lock and Childrens’ Hospital at Westmead (CHW) ambassador Nathan Brown made an appearance at the CHW stand at the Royal Easter Show. Nathan spent time in the stand helping kids learn what an MRI machine does and mingled with the crowd who attended the show.

18 April 2019
Event: Youth Week – Parramatta Mission
Eels Community Partner, Parramatta Mission held their annual Youth Week event at Parramatta Youth Hub. NRL players Marata Niukore, Manu Ma’u, Shaun Lane and Ethan Parry attended the event and spoke to clients about issues they have had to overcome in their youth. The food was cooked and donated by Outback Steakhouse, Wentworthville.  Youth Week as well as the Youth Hub provides or young people who are at risk of homelessness or who are under pressure and have no family.
