Eels selected with NSW Under 16 team for Pasifika match

Young Blue & Gold Junior Representative David Langi is the lone Parramatta Eels player named in the NSW Under 16s squad to face an Under 16s Pasifika team at Belmore Sports Ground on Sunday 9 June whilst Scott Jones has been selected as Head Coach.

Langi is the only Eels player named in the 20 man squad that includes seven players from the premiership-winning Newcastle Knights team from the UNE Harold Matthews Cup and four players from Grand Finalists Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs.

The squad was selected after a Harold Matthews Representative team played a NSW Country Under-16s team at Penrith Stadium on Friday 17 May. They will come into camp on Friday 7 June.

The Pasifika game is being held in lieu of a match against Queensland. A NSW Under-16s team has played against Queensland since 2013 and has won for the past three consecutive years.

The side will also be coached by Parramatta Eels Jersey Flegg assistant coach Scott Jones. Jones has coached the successful NSW Under 16s side over the last few years and will take on coaching the side again in 2019.

Congratulations to David Langi and Scott Jones!
