Eels in the Community – May recap

During the month of May, the Parramatta Eels had a busy month in the community with weekly visits to the Parramatta Leagues Club, Junior League Club visits, attending the Domestic Violence Awareness event at Eels Charity Partner Parramatta Mission along with a lunch with Parramatta Leagues Club Members at the PLC.

During the month of May, the Eels also raised funds via the 50-50 Charity Raffle with the Men of League, Indigenous Literacy Foundation and the Children’s Hospital at Westmead receiving funds generously donated by the Blue & Gold Members and fans.

The Eels also held special Member events during their Round 9 clash against the Storm in Brisbane for NRL’s Magic Round and after the Eels Round 10 Captain’s Run training session in Townsville.

1, 8, 15 & 29 May 2019 
Event: Weekly PLC Appearance.
Every Wednesday during the month of May, 2 Eels players visited the Parramatta Leagues Club between 6:7:30pm to mingle and bowl with patrons. This month included Peni Terepo, Brad Takairangi, Maika Sivo, Tepai Moeroa, Michael Jennings, Mitchell Moses and Reed Mahoney.

2, 7, 8, 14, 15 & 29 May 2019 
Event: Junior League Club Visits
This month 10 Parramatta Eels Players went back to our local clubs and gave back to the juniors. Players attended training sessions, threw a ball with the kids and signed autographs.
Players included Jaeman Salmon, Blake Ferguson, Reed Mahoney, Dylan Brown, Greg Leleisiuao, Peni Terepo, Bevan French, Matt  Mcllwrick, Will Smith and Shaun Lane.

15 May 2019
Event: Parramatta Mission- Domestic Violence Awareness event
On May 15, Parramatta Eels players Shaun Lane, Andrew Davey, David Gower and Dylan Brown visited the Parramatta Mission Youth Hub to assist with their Domestic Violence Awareness event. The players attended the event and lit a candle in recognition of individual’s ands their families who have been effected by Domestic Violence. Eels Community Partner Outback Steakhouse Wentworthville kindly donated and cooked the BBQ on the night

Event: Parramatta Leagues Club Luncheon
On May 27, a lucky group of Parramatta leagues Club Members were invited to lunch with the 2019 Parramatta Eels NRL squad. The lunch was held at the Parramatta Leagues Club.
