Eels to return to #eelsterritory next week

The Parramatta Eels will return to #eelsterritory next week (Tuesday 26th November – Friday 29 November) as part of their annual pre-season trip to the Blue & Gold’s home away from home.

Returning to the Northern Territory, the Eels are again planning a full twelve-month calendar of visits to #eelsterritory in 2020, kicking off with next week’s visit.

The Blue & Gold will host several open training sessions, coaching and skills clinics, as well as community visits, community activations and tasks, and school gala day visits throughout the week in Alice Springs.

Eels Head Coach Brad Arthur and the Eels coaching staff will also assist local NRL representatives running an Eels Academy training session for talented U14-U17 local rugby league players.

During the 2020 season, the Blue & Gold will return to the Northern Territory to face the Brisbane Broncos at Darwin’s TIO Stadium on Friday 24 April in Round 7 of the NRL Telstra Premiership.

Details of the events open to the public are as follows:

Tuesday 26 November
4:30pm – 5:30pm Open Training Session – Blue & Gold fans are encouraged to arrive to ANZAC Oval to watch the team go through their first of three field sessions in Alice Springs. 

Wednesday 27 November
8:30am – 9:30am Open Training Session – The Eels will return for their second field session of the week at ANZAC Oval in the morning, which is open to the public for viewing.
5pm – 6pm Junior Kids (5-12) Skills Clinic – The Blue & Gold squad will assist at a FREE Junior Kids (5-12) Skills Clinic at ANZAC Oval, run by Eels and local NT Coaches and development officers. Open to 5-12 year old boys and girls, the skills clinic will cater for all skill levels. 

Thursday 28 November
3pm – 5pm Community Activations – After a closed gym session and a visit to a high school gala day in the morning, the Eels will take part in a handful of community activations and community tasks in the afternoon including a visit to Woolworths Yeperenye that are open to the public. 

Friday 29 November
6am – 7:30am NRL Open Training Session – The Eels will hold their third and final open training session at ANZAC Oval before the team departs for Sydney later that afternoon.
