Takairangi: It will be special to pull that jumper on again
Parramatta Eels winger Blake Ferguson and centre Brad Takairangi will clash in the upcoming All Stars clash at Cbus Super Stadium on February 22 with the two Blue & Gold players named in the respective sides today.
Ferguson was named for the Indigenous All Stars side with coach Laurie Daley naming a squad that has plenty of speed and power.
Bolstered by Mitchell at the back, wingers Josh Addo-Carr and Ferguson partner centres James Roberts and Jesse Ramien in the backline, while Nathan Peats, Andrew Fifita, David Fifita, Wade Graham, Adam Elliott, Joel Thompson and Josh Kerr have been named in the forward pack.
Maori All Stars coach David Kidwell has named Blue & Gold Brad Takairangi in his imposing squad that features plenty of stars up front, including Nelson Asofa-Solomona, Adam Blair, Jesse Bromwich, Kenny Bromwich, James Tamou, Kevin Proctor, Briton Nikora, Zane Tetevano and Corey Harawira-Naera whilst Brandom Smith and Isaac Like look to share hooking duties.
Takairangi has been named alongside Kalyn Ponga, Dallin Watene-Zelezniak, Bailey Simonsson, Dylan Walker, Esan Marters and Malakai Watene-Zelezniak as backline options.
Fan polling played a key role in the make-up of both teams, with Daley and Kidwell using the data to decide on the final squads.
