Ferguson charged with tripping

Parramatta Eels winger Blake Ferguson has been charged with tripping following Thursday night's season-opening win against the Bulldogs.

The match review committee charged Ferguson with a Grade 1 penalty for tripping Dallin Watene-Zelezniak in the 54th minute.

The charge carries a base penalty of $1500.

Ferguson can take the early guilty plea to have the fine reduced to $1150.

The club has until next week to decide which course of action to take.

Ferguson is not facing suspension.
