Mahoney updates fans on broken foot
Parramatta Eels hooker Reed Mahoney is in good spirits and plans to start physio for his broken foot as soon as possible, while in isolation.
The 21-year-old suffered the ‘Jones fracture’ in the Eels’ Round Two win over the Titans on the Gold Coast, while jumping out of the way of a tackle.
He has since had surgery to have a screw put in.
“Surgery went well and I got the cast off last week,” Mahoney told Eels Media.
He now plans to see a specialist later this week to get the stitches out and could be given the all clear to start physio right away.
“I’ll just do as much as I can without doing too much on my foot,” he said.
Mahoney initially thought he could be out for the season, but after getting a number of opinions, he now says his recovery time is likely eight to nine weeks.
The hooker started the season well before the NRL came to a sudden halt, scoring two tries in two games.
Reedy would like to thank the Blue and Gold Army for the unwavering support he has received over the last few weeks.
