With crowds not allowed to attend matches for the time being, the NRL has launched Fan in the Stand, giving supporters the chance to "watch" their team play live from inside the stadiums.

The NRL and its partners have developed multiple innovative activations to bring fans inside closed stadiums for the resumption of the Telstra Premiership.

The initiatives have been designed to ensure the teams still feel the fans' presence inside the stadium, on-screen and online during the unusual circumstances created by the COVID-19 pandemic until the crowds can return.

For $22 plus GST, NRL members and fans can have their photo printed on a 100% recyclable cut-out and placed in their team's current home venue.

NRL head of marketing Peter Jarmain said while fans can be a part of something truly unique.

"We wanted to make sure the lifeblood of the NRL, our members and fans, had the chance to pull on their jerseys, don their club colours and support in a really fun way," he said.

"I know the players and clubs will appreciate the support, even if the fans aren’t able to shout, celebrate and jump around for the tries and hits as they usually would."

The initiative is kicking off in stadiums this weekend before the concept ramps up with more fans able to take part in round four.

A $1 donation will be made from every purchase towards the *Gotcha4Life Foundation.

Just like a regular match-day, music will be played throughout breaks in play to provide greater atmosphere in venues and will be used to help to punctuate key moments throughout the match.

A number of players have also selected specific tracks to be played should they cross the try line across the weekend.
