Member Update: Round 5 Crowd Attendance Update

Dear Members,

In some great news for our Club and after extensive consultation with the NRL and NSW Government, we have today been given permission to have a limited number of corporate partners and Members for our home game against the Panthers this Friday night.

While the Club is thankful for the opportunity provided by the NSW Government, the numbers for this week’s game will be extremely limited with the approved game day capacity being approximately 420 seats. This leaves us with less than 1.5% of the total capacity of Bankwest Stadium.

In addition, the public health guidelines only allow access for the western side of the stadium and specifically in the dedicated corporate spaces.

Due to the short notice, the Club has decided to use this capacity for a cross section of Major Corporate Partners, long term Suite Holders, selected long-tenured Members and selected life Members. Our Membership staff will be contacting those selected Members from tomorrow morning to advise of the tickets and related protocols.

This approach is designed to be as fair as possible considering the limited capacity available and the short notice upon which to contact our partners and Members for this Friday’s game.

Whilst we are excited to take this first step in a return of crowds to the game, there will be some clear protocols that will need to be followed to adhere to NSW Government Guidelines. This will include:

  • Confirm to staff whether they have any COVID-19 symptoms;
  • Confirm to staff whether they have been exposed to anyone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19;
  • Confirm to staff whether they have been in quarantine in the past 14 days;
  • Submit to and pass an individual temperature check which records a temperature of 37.2c or less.

The Club also encourages those attending the games to download the COVIDSafe app onto your smartphone and have it activated.

For our next home game against the Raiders on 27 June, the Club will be working with the NRL and the NSW Government to attempt to increase the capacity under the Public Health guidelines especially in our key Member areas. We will provide all Members with an update on this matter as soon as we are able to do so.

In addition to the above, we are looking to provide our Members with an update on the 2020 Membership program in the coming days via email and our social channels.

We want to thank you for the great support and understanding and look forward to welcoming you back to Bankwest Stadium as soon as possible.

Parra Forever,
Parramatta Eels Membership Team
