Parramatta Eels prop Kane Evans has been charged by the Match Review Committee following the Eels 16-10 victory over the Penrith Panthers at Bankwest Stadium in Round 5 of the NRL Telstra Premiership.
Evans has been charged with Grade One Dangerous Contact - Other for an incident with Panthers forward Liam Martin in the 41st minute of the clash.
The base penalty for the charge is 100 points and can be reduced to 90 with an early guilty plea, however carries 120 points if unsuccessfully challenged at the judiciary.
Evans however, has one prior non-similar offence in the last 2 years meaning he will have 25 carry-over points (20% loading) to be added.
The charge may see Evans miss one week of the competition and be unavailable for selection when the Eels face the Sydney Roosters in Round Six.
