There were more than a few bruised and battered bodies after some terrific tackles in round five of the Telstra Premiership.

Across the eight matches there were quite a few try-saving specials as well as some big hits to rattle the bones of the NRL's stars.

The biggest bone-rattler was judged to be the best tackle of the week - Eels prop Reagan Campbell-Gillard shortening up former teammate, Panthers forward James Fisher-Harris.

The other candidates for this week's Youi Tackle of the Week honour were:

  • Storm fullback Ryan Papenhuyzen on his Newcastle opposite number Kalyn Ponga;
  • Dragons forward Tyson Frizell's copybook cover tackle on Cronulla winger Sione Katoa;
  • Manly star Tom Trbojevic bringing down Broncos young gun Xavier Coates.
