On the Eels’ performance

“We knew they were going to throw everything at us in the first twenty minutes but we found a way to win but we still have a fair bit of work to do, it wasn’t great,” Arthur said.

On the Eels’ slow start

“Our response was good and I thought our response last week was good too, but we left it too late last week. We can’t be starting like that. Second set down there on our try line, we need to show a bit more resolve and grit there,” Arthur said.

On Moses’ return

“A bit rusty there tonight Mitch, but he did make a difference, I suppose with that talk and his kicking game was good so he was helpful, but I just thought we started a bit tight off the five day turnaround but we get a good long turnaround now so we can re-group, give them a couple of days off and start again,. They’ve worked hard for a good period so now give them a bit of a rest and start again,” Arthur said.

How Matterson pulled up

“Yeah look, he’s just disappointed. His health is all right and that’s the main thing. He’ll get a good ten day break and he’ll be right for next week, ” Arthur said.

How Andrew Davey stepped in for Matterson

“Yeah he was good. We threw him in there and he did a really good job. We left Reg out there, he was looking to play the full 80 minutes off the back off last week’s 80 and then he played 65-68 minutes again straight tonight and probably wanted to stay there for the full game but that’s a big effort for a front rower  with a five day turnaround. We (RCG) have been threatening about scoring a try, he bombed two the last few weeks and so he said he was going to get one this week,” Arthur said.

Ferguson’s no try

“I don’t think there are many people who could finish like that, but he’ll have to go again next week,” Arthur said.

On Michael Chee Kam’s injury

Yeah it’s not great but hopefully he is okay. It doesn’t look nice for anyone does it?
