Man of the Match: Panthers v Eels, Round 18

The Parramatta Eels suffered a 20-2 defeat to the Penrith Panthers at Panthers Stadium on Friday 11 September in Round 18 of the NRL Telstra Premiership.

Despite the loss, the Blue & Gold put in a huge defensive effort in a clash where they were starved for the ball for majority of the clash. With close to 1000 votes submitted, Eels fullback and captain Clint Gutherson was voted as the 'My Muscle Chef' Man of the Match award with 37% of the votes.

Defensively, Nathan Brown led the way with 55 tackles to along with his 143m from 16 runs.

Ryan Matterson (50 tackles and 99 run metres), Reagan Campbell-Gillard (35 tackles and 111 run metres), Junior Paulo (35 and 127 run metres) and Shaun Lane (37 tackles and 117 run metres) all had busy nights in the middle of the field.
