The Parramatta Eels suffered a 36-24 defeat to the Melbourne Storm at Suncorp Stadium in the Qualifying Final on Saturday 3 October.
Whilst never easy to do after a defeat, the Blue & Gold Army submitted their votes and voted Eels fullback and captain Clint Gutherson as their ‘My Muscle Chef’ Man of the Match.
Gutherson polled 38% of the 1,300 votes submitted, with Reed Mahoney runners up with 22% of the votes.
Gutherson was in the thick of the action with one try, 89m from 13 runs, 1 line break, two tackle breaks and three offloads.
Tries were split between Nathan Brown, Clint Gutherson, Blake Ferguson and Shaun Lane whilst Mitch Moses kicked four from four with the boot.
With ball in hand, back rower Shaun Lane topped the run metres with 170m from his 16 charges whilst Reagan Campbell-Gillard (156m), Ryan Matterson (129m), Junior Paulo (120m) and Nathan Brown (116m) also worked hard against the big Storm forward pack.
Reed Mahoney (43 tackles) topped the tackle count for the Eels whilst Matterson (42 tackles) and Brown (37 tackles) were also busy.
