It was an emotional night for the Parramatta NRLW team as the women were presented with their 2022 jersey ahead of the first round of the squad’s second season this weekend.

Prop Junior Paulo was a special guest to kick off the presentation on Thursday as he wished the girls the best of luck and handed co-captains Simaima Taufa and Tiana Penitani their kit.

The duo then introduced each of the 18 girls one-by-one and spoke from the heart about what each brought to the squad, leading to all the ladies reduced to tears.

NRLW 2022 Jersey Presentation

Debutant Tess Staines was one of the first women to receive her jersey and could not contain her emotions as Penitani spoke about her commitment to relocate to play for the Western Sydney side.

“It was sort of an indescribable feeling know all your hard work and sacrifices and commitments you had to make is actually worthwhile,” she said afterwards.

“To finally get there and hold that jersey in your hand, yeah, it’s a feeling that I certainly will cherish for a very long time.

Staines said she was excited to run out onto CommBank Stadium on Saturday alongside her teammates and represent her family who will be at the game.

“To actually do it in front of my family and show them that all the commitments that they’ve helped me make and the sacrifices and the kilometres my parents put in has gotten me somewhere,” the winger said.

The NRLW Parramatta women take on reigning premiers Sydney Roosters at CommBank Stadium on Saturday August 20 at 1pm.
