As the Club celebrates the 40-year anniversary of our famous Premiership three-peat, the Parramatta Eels revisit the 1982 Grand Final.
After winning their first Premiership the previous season, Parramatta returned to the Sydney Cricket Ground on Grand Final day in 1982 as hungry as ever.
The Blue & Gold were back with a vengeance, facing a Manly side who humbled them to the tune of 20-0 in a Semi Final two weeks prior. The Eels tasted sweet revenge, downing the Sea Eagles 21-8 in the Grand Final and setting up one of rugby league's fiercest rivalries.
Brett Kenny repeated his 1981 heroics with a Grand Final double for the second season running, and was retrospectively awarded the Clive Churchill Medal.
Manly took an early lead, but the Eels rallied to take a 16-3 advantage into half-time.
Steve Ella and Brett Kenny linked up for the opening try, and combined once again to send Eric Grothe over the line.
