The Eels, Parra Leagues Club, and the local community celebrated a successful Great Jnr Aussie Boot Swap on a heartwarming day in Parramatta.
The initiative, a first-of-its-kind for the Eels, invited junior sports participants aged 5-12 to donate used boots and, in return, upgrade to a larger size at Parra Leagues Club.
The inaugural Boot Swap was a resounding success, with over $12,000 worth of boots donated. Many of these were unworn or in excellent condition, highlighting the generosity and goodwill of the Parramatta community.
Aimed at fostering inclusivity and supporting grassroots participants, the event garnered an overwhelmingly positive response. Attendees praised the Boot Swap for making junior sport more accessible to the community by easing financial burdens.
Encouraged by the success of the inaugural edition, the Parramatta Eels and Parra Leagues Club are excited to announce that plans are underway for another Boot Swap.
The Eels encourage the public to keep hold of their existing boots to donate at future events.
