The Eels recently invited the families and guardians of their Pathways players to an Induction Day ahead of the 2024 season.
Caregivers of the Eels players selected for the SG Ball, Tarsha Gale, Harold Matthews and Lisa Fiaola competitions came together to meet one another, as well as the Club staff overseeing the Pathways program.
The induction aimed to introduce the players' families and guardians to the program, while discussing a range of topics relevant to young athletes.
Nathan Parnham, an athletic development coach and author of The Sporting Parent, appeared as a guest presenter.
“Days like today are very important,” said Mark O’Neill, Parramatta Eels General Manager of Football.
“It is about bringing the community together. We’re bringing the parents together, we’re getting the chance to introduce ourselves. The parents get an opportunity to connect with one another, and also they get a chance to put a face to the name.
“Their child will be spending a lot of time in the coming months, and have so in previous months, in our program.
It’s good for them to know, be reassured and have confidence in the program and people that we have in the Pathways here at Parramatta Eels.”
