2025 Key Resolutions

This AGM marks five years since the introduction of our new Constitution. In that time, we have achieved significant milestones, and now we are looking to build on that success with some timely updates.

Your voting pack includes access to the full Notice of AGM and Explanatory Notes outlining each proposed Resolution. We strongly encourage you to review these documents and make your voice heard by voting online, by post, or in person at the meeting (Special Resolutions only).

Club Patron Resolution

Your Directors recommend the appointment of Peter Wynn as Club Patron.

Peter is a true Parramatta icon – a former Premiership-winning player, a successful businessman, and a dedicated advocate for our Club. As an Eels Life Member, Ambassador, and Perpetual Member of Parramatta Leagues, Peter has always supported our community. We are delighted that he has accepted this nomination, and we look forward to your support in confirming him as our Patron.

Special Resolutions

Following the Ordinary Resolutions and the Election of Directors, Members will be asked to vote on four Special Resolutions, summarised below. Full details are available in the Notice of AGM (and Explanatory Notes).

Special Resolution 1: Proposes updates to the Constitution, including:

  • Removing outdated clauses regarding the First Board (all current Directors are now elected by Members).
  • Removing the old "5-kilometre" rule (now abolished by the Government).
Reducing red tape in any future Club Amalgamations.
  • Minor formatting adjustments to align with the Registered Clubs Act.

Special Resolution 2: Ensures individuals deemed unfit or improper by relevant authorities cannot serve as Directors. This aligns with existing clauses that already exclude those with criminal records or bankruptcy.

Special Resolution 3: Guarantees Members the right to request a Special General Meeting if at least 5% of voting Members support it. This replaces a lower threshold and helps prevent costly General Meetings initiated by small groups.

Special Resolution 4: Allows the Club to notify Members if legally required to disclose the Members’ Register to another Member. This ensures transparency about who is requesting the information and why.

The Parramatta Leagues Club Board unanimously supports these amendments to strengthen our Club’s future.
